In late 2015 a specimen of Aturia coxi was located on the foreshore at Beaumaris and after obtaining a DELWP Permit, it was removed and donated to Museum Victoria where it is now held in their Beaumaris collection. Photos below show the Aturia encased in Beaumaris sandstone, cleaned at Museum Victoria and being inspected on the shore by (left to right) Professor John Buckeridge, Ray Lewis OAM and Murray Orr
